YouTube's community tab is now documented simply as Posts

The setup

What creators and viewers long called the Community tab is documented on YouTube's own help center simply as Posts. Two of its pages, Learn about posts and Create a post, both as retrieved on 16 September 2026, describe what a channel can publish between videos and where fans see it.

What the documents show

The Learn about posts page states a post can carry polls, quizzes, GIFs, text, music, images or video, and that posts surface on a channel's Home tab, a dedicated Posts tab, subscribers' homepage and Subscriptions feed, and, specifically for image posts, in the Shorts feed. It states posts are unavailable to channels marked made for kids and to supervised viewer accounts, and that posts are currently unavailable in Germany. The Create a post page details five distinct formats: text; image or GIF posts, up to ten images in JPG, PNG, GIF or WEBP at up to 16MB each; video posts pulled from search, a URL, or the channel's own uploads; polls with up to four answer options; and quizzes with up to four answers and an explanation field. It states a post can be scheduled for a future date, time and timezone, and that YouTube limits how many posts a channel can publish in a 24-hour period, without naming the exact number.

The craft

For an agency or solo creator managing a concert or schedule change, posts are the tool for the announcement that does not deserve a full video: a poll asking fans which archived stream to watch, a quiz teasing new merchandise, or a text post confirming a delayed stream, each reaching subscribers through their feed without requiring anyone to open a new video. Scheduling a post ahead of an announcement window lets a small team queue up event-day communication before the event itself starts.

Keeping the creator in control

The made-for-kids and regional exclusions mean a channel cannot assume posts reach every subscriber the same way everywhere, which matters for any agency coordinating a multi-region concert announcement across channels with different settings. The undisclosed daily posting cap is worth noting for a team running live event-day updates: the page states a limit exists to protect the community but does not say what it is, so a team posting frequently during an event has no official number to plan against.

• Which of the five post formats best fits a specific announcement: a poll, a quiz, or plain text?
• Has the team tested how many posts it can publish in a single event day before hitting an undisclosed limit?

The rename from Community tab to Posts is not just cosmetic in the documentation: the current pages describe a five-format publishing tool with real eligibility gates, not a single generic feed.
